Killi Chelliah has been part of the Markham community for over 25 years, and has made Ward 7 his home for the last 15. He built his career and raised his family in these neighbourhoods. He knows this ward's streets, schools, and problem intersections not from a staff briefing, but from living on them every day. Since 2011, Killi has quietly given back — as a regular blood donor, a supporter of Markham Stouffville Hospital, an active member of the Tamil Community Centre, and a contributor to local community organizations. He isn't running to start showing up for Ward 7. He has been showing up for more than 25 years. He is running because families here are tired of being told to wait on traffic safety, on runaway development, and on a councillor who actually answers the phone.
Killi's work in Ward 7 didn't start with a campaign. Since 2011, he has shown up — quietly and consistently — for the causes and organizations that make Markham stronger.

Speeding on residential streets and unsafe intersections have put our kids and seniors at risk for too long. Killi will push for traffic calming, safer school zones, and real action at the crossings residents flag most, starting with [name the single worst intersection in the ward].
Ward 7 is being reshaped by density faster than our roads, schools, and parking can keep up. Killi will fight for growth that arrives with the infrastructure to support it, and for a councillor who listens to residents before the towers go up, not after.
As the ward grows, our parks, trees, and access to Rouge National Urban Park matter more, not less. Killi will protect the green space we have and make sure new neighbourhoods are built with room to breathe.
Residents have raised real concerns about break ins and theft. Killi will work with York Regional Police and community members on practical prevention, reliable snow clearing, and a councillor's office that answers when you call.

Contributions are governed by the Municipal Elections Act. Maximum $1,200 per individual. Corporations, unions, and anonymous donations over $25 are prohibited. Contributions are not federally tax-deductible, but the City of Markham's Contribution Rebate Program refunds 75% of eligible contributions (up to $1,200) to Markham residents — an official receipt for your rebate application will be emailed to you.
