Who we are

This site is operated by the campaign to elect Killi Chelliah as City Councillor for Markham Ward 7 ("we", "us", "the campaign"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of visitors, volunteers, donors, and supporters.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to share with us, including:

• Name, email address, phone number, and postal code when you volunteer, request a lawn sign, or subscribe to updates.
• Address and residency attestation when you make a donation, as required by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
• Payment information processed securely by our third-party payment processor. We do not store credit card numbers.

How we use your information

• To respond to volunteer, lawn sign, and general inquiries.
• To send you campaign updates you have subscribed to.
• To issue official contribution receipts and comply with campaign finance reporting to the City of Markham.
• To coordinate get-out-the-vote and community outreach activities.

Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help operate the campaign (e.g., email, payment processing, hosting) and as required by law, including reporting contributions to the City of Markham Clerk's Office.

Data retention

Campaign contribution records are retained as required by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Other information is kept only as long as needed for the purposes described above, and then deleted.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from campaign emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message, or by contacting us. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
